MY HEALTH JOURNEY

I grew up in the Blue Mountains and had very conscious parents, they started the Leura health food stop in the 1980's and always took me to the family naturopath.

After school, I went to business college and entered the corporate sector. I ended up in a very high powered law firm in Sydney CBD and after a few years of working long hours and burning the candle at both ends I had a breakdown, I was anxious depressed and had manifested a bout of glandular fever, I was hospitalised after a large panic attack. I remember staring out my hospital window and wondering how I had ended up so tired, so exhausted and so empty at the ripe old age of 21. The doctors in the hospital offered anti-depressants and anxiety medication and even at such a young age, I knew that wasn't going to be my solution. I felt empty and didn't know what to do next. My mum took me off to see the family naturopath Kaye Ridgeway. Kaye taught me how to nourish myself, how to use food as medicine. She recommended I do some counselling and sand-play to unlock and process some deep trauma I had been holding within after extensive bullying through high school.

After that first session with Kaye, something was awakened with me, I knew that was what I was here to do. To awaken people's consciousness and to teach them to nourish and heal their bodies with good food.

I then resigned from my job as a paralegal and enrolled in Naturopathy at ACNT & University of New England that very next week. I never looked back.

The tools I gained through my studies have been the most valuable skills I have ever learned for myself, for my family and for my patients. I am truly blessed to LOVE what I do. It doesn't feel right to call it work - it’s my calling...
